RE: Champaign County Coronavirus Update
The Champaign County Health District held a meeting on 3/3/2020 to discuss the current status of the novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and the county’s preparations to date. There are NO confirmed cases in Champaign County or Ohio. Therefore, preparation and PREVENTION are the best courses of action against the novel Coronavirus Disease at this time. Lucky for all of us, prevention is not new to schools, families, and communities.
Continue to practice the following tips:
Wash hands frequently - at least twice daily has been shown to reduce the spread of infectious diseases. If you do not have access to hand washing stations, use hand sanitizer as a back-up option.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze using your ELBOW.
Don’t touch your mouth or eyes with your hands.
Stay home if you are sick and don’t return to work or school until you are fever free for 24 hours without medication.
See the doctor for flu-like symptoms.
Champaign County Schools are working closely with the Health District to stay up to date and to promote prevention strategies within our buildings and communities. Please follow our social media accounts, which will be used to share information from the Health District with our families as it comes available.
